Responsible for notifying exploration and production personnel of all upcoming lease obligations and participate in determining contractual provision of various agreements contributing to the disposition of each obligation. Responsible for seeking out farm-ins and farm-outs with operators to optimize land holdings. Travel is highly required. Examine and cure drilling and division order title opinions requirements. Hire and supervise leases brokers and manage prospects lease acquisitions and expenditures
Reservoir Engineer with a degree level in relevant Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering discipline. Minimum 10 years oil industry experience. Demonstrated experience on exploration/development projects. The successful candidate will have
extensive contacts in the Houston E & P community and have worked for a consulting firm. Possible equity position in the company for the right candidate. Job Description: The role will involve both classical engineering techniques and reservoir simulation for projects that include asset evaluation, reserves auditing and multi-discipline field and reservoir studies. Preparation of life of field depletion plans to optimize economic recovery. Development scenario planning. Uncertainty assessment and mitigation. Technology planning. Surveillance planning and analysis of reservoir performance. Short-term optimization of reservoir offtake. We will also consider flexible working arrangements for this position.
Exploration Director 20+ years of recent industry experience in Geoscience related positions with
minimum 15 years in NA onshore experience, experience in Barnett Shale preferred. Candidate will be responsible for supervision of Pilgrim Petroleum and
consultants staff working to develop new unconventional shale gas exploration
projects within the Central Division. Candidate will also oversee the
Division’s ongoing and future onsite and offsite Shale Gas research. Primary
responsibilities are as follows:
Interact and collaborate with the Exploration/ Exploitation Manager and other
Central Division Supervisors to plan, develop strategy, budget and report
results of a focused exploration effort targeting new unconventional shale gas
opportunities within the Central Division.
Supervise a team of petroprofessionals and support staff assigned to develop
and evaluate new unconventional shale gas exploration plays within the Central
Division.
Interact and collaborate with the district supervisor teams to test and hand-
off approved exploration plays to the district asset teams.
Act as primary point of contact and provide technical guidance to Division’s
ongoing and future research projects directed at creating value, defining best
practices and communicating results to petroprofessionals and support staff
assigned to asset teams.
Supervise special geological projects as needed.
Job Description: Recent experience with Shale Gas Resource plays is essential.
Strong prospecting skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate opportunities
and identify/address key risk elements.
Broad Technical skills and ability to interpret and critique seismic data,
subsurface interpretation, and regional analysis.
Ability to lead a regional interpretation effort based upon sond technical and
commercial decisions.
Ability to work within inter- and intra-divisional constraints to assimilate
key data and build a regional understanding, develop the big picture, focus
efforts on plays and/or identifying niches that can be exploited.
Familiarity with economic evaluations and metrics. Demonstrated expertise with
Pete Rose methodology (including play analysis).
Demonstrated ability to formulate and present well considered recommendations
that yield effective written and oral presentations to influence direct
reports, peers, division and senior management.
Demonstrated ability to formulate, lead and influence technical research.
Skills and experience working within University research teams is essential.
Self-motivated, well organized, creative and results oriented.
Desire to mentor and develop entry level G&G petroprofessionals.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Job Requirements: Degree in Geology or Geophysics, M.S. Degree required.
Unconventional gas experience required, specifically shale gas.
Prior leadership experience as supervisor or team leader a plus, but not
required.
Experience guiding and providing leadership to research projects required.
Proven record of mentoring and training entry level staff.
Certified Petroleum Geologist 10-year experience (minimum) in domestic Oil & Gas projects To be considered for this position, you must possess a Master’s Degree or PhD Degree in Geology and have approximately 8 or more years in an E&P Field Appraisal or Development environment, including the construction and execution of field development plans and participation in integrated field studies and reservoir modeling exercises. You must possess an in-depth understanding of the application of static reservoir modeling techniques to a wide range of reservoirs and integrated reservoir problems.
Additional Requirements:
- High level of appreciation of the impact field studies have on field development and business decisions
- Strong reservoir modeling skills based on hands-on usage of such tools, together with a sound grasp of all latest Development Geology technologies
- Wide ranging experience base, together with a comprehensive knowledge of the full range of Development Geology activities from well planning to field development planning is desirable, with proven experience in working in integrated teams, together with operational experience
- High level of competence in sedimentology, reservoir characterization, surveillance geology, static reservoir modeling, well planning, well-site operations geology, seismic interpretation, tectonics, field development planning, risk and uncertainty definition and management, and pre-drill pressure prediction; ability to work successfully with a variety of disciplines; ability to stand up to strong challenge from other disciplines in a complex matrix organization while driving forward integrated projects
- SEC reserve estimation experience is a plus.
